Hinged Newt / More free Spaghetti shows
« on: February 03, 2010, 09:19:39 pm »
I put two more on my website that were donated by Xavier from France.  Merci Xavier!

All shows are in project form so you can see how the shows are made.  They are very good examples of how to make shows with Spaghetti.

Hinged Newt / Spaghetti contest winners
« on: February 01, 2010, 09:02:21 pm »
I had a Spaghetti laser show contest and I announced the winners tonight.  Only 3 people entered but all 3 shows were good.  One was disqualified for being too short which is a shame because it was very entertaining.  First and second place winners were from France.  I let the disqualified show win 3rd place for being a good sport.  :)  He was from Malta.  I don't even know where Malta is other than that it is in Europe!  First place prize was $60.  Second place won two Spaghett licenses.  Third place got one Spaghett license.  I hope to be able to put the shows on my website.  It was part of the contest that I would do so but I want to get permission from the contestants first just so no one gets upset.  I hope to have more contests with better prizes in the future.

And Now For Something Completely Different! / Bill Gates rocks!
« on: January 24, 2010, 07:51:14 am »
http://www.gatesnotes.com/

I don't know how anyone could dislike this man.  I think the reason that Windows is how it is and Linux is how it is is because that Gates thinks in human terms and Linux folks think in computer scientist terms.  In the end, if the product doesn't work for uneducated folks who can't even program a VCR then the product is a failure.  I think Bill gets that not everyone is created equally and tries to help them all.  Bill Gates should receive a Nobel Peach Prize.  He has done so much more than Obama.  Gates gives his own money away to help to needy.  Obama just gives MY money away.  Gates and Windows are good.  Obama and Linux are the devil.

I hate paper cuts and dry weather.  I just can't get into the groove with an achy finger.

I received this email this morning.  I got a chuckle:

hi, how about a free tryout for your program? i think 50$ is too high for this software with one key per pc, and i better hack it for these money or just write my own soft later when i have time. so if you give me a free tryout i probably then will be too lazy to make such things as dissassembling and figuring out what i can do to make it work as full version. btw, im from russia and i state that information must be free you could release your software as opensource instead, and not to ask such money from this not so good piece of software (i just want to use it with my soundcard usbdac now and i still didnt have done my own software). thanks.

Hinged Newt / Worthless but fun new Spaghetti feature
« on: December 24, 2009, 07:49:19 pm »
Now you can play a laser show with your mouse.  Just move your mouse over the timeline and whatever frame is under the pointer will be sent to your projector.  You can play shows backwarrds and forwards; slow motiona and warp speed. You can turn the feature on and off with a little button on the side of the timeline.  Merry Christmas! :)

Well, psyche.  I haven't uploaded it to my website yet.  I have to make a new icon first.

Hinged Newt / Noodle Bug
« on: December 18, 2009, 08:44:20 pm »
Began working on my new project.  I call it "Noodle Bug".  It's a drawing application.  It will not be ILDA based at all but will have a runtime engine that will be able to convert Bug images to an optimized series of points for laser display.

DACs / IShow DAC hack attack
« on: December 18, 2009, 07:18:18 am »
I just bought an ISHOW DAC kit off Ebay.  They are going for only $132 with free shipping!!!!  That makes them the cheapest pre-built-with-a-case laser DAC available by far.  You can hardly build a sound card DAC and but it in a box for that price.  I am going to try to make a Spaghetti driver for it.

Joint Development / Point oriented vs vector oriented frames
« on: November 11, 2009, 05:43:42 pm »
So, what's the difference?  I honestly don't know.  I treat all ILDA frames the same.

Also, there is no general sub-forum for asking this question so I stuck it here.

Woooo doggie, that FB3 thread on the Pangolin, I mean PhotonLexicon forum is a doosie.  :)  I'm not going to comment since I don't have a dog in that fight but it's good for getting out the popcorn and reading.  :)
