My portable green laser

This is my first laser build.
Box size is 330x230x150mm, galvos is Laserworld LW-50, laser is green 150mw from www.laser-rich.com, USB sound card DAC, 2x 12V 7Ah SLA batteries, Titan 75w 12V to 220V converter, Asus Eeepc 701 to control laser, relays and batteries charging circuit.

Would'nt it have been more efficient to go from 12V to 5V (laser) and 24V (scanner) via DC-DC converter?
Or what for do you need 220V ?

You are right decix, but with included PSU +-24V to galvos i run from 220V and at the same time charge the battery.
