OK! So now I have dual greens.

One of them I got from an eBay vendor and the other one rMuD gave me and he got it from dealextreme.

The one I got was rated at 150mW and drlava measured it at more than that.

The one Rob got was sold as a 100mW but measured at about the same >150mW!

Each one of them has it's own flexmod driver version N2.

The one I got from eBay just doesn't seem to like to be modulated.

If you give it a steady full on +5V it's bright as hell, but if you try to scan with it, it's just not very good. I'm not so sure that KTP temp is all there is to it.

The one Rob got from dealextreme likes to be hot! So I removed the heat sync fins from that one and after it's been full on solid for several minutes, it gets pretty warmed up. Then it modulates pretty well.

So I just ordered a 200mW module from dealextreme for $47 shipped!

If it works as well as the 100mW that Rob ordered, I think I'll have all the green I need for a while!

Too bad I already ordered another one of those eBay 150mW deals for $58. Oh well.

I think I will make a totally mechanical projection system of spinning mirrors and stuff and use it there. I can use mechanical blanking.

Wow! That is a work of love and art :) - I am looking at creating something similar. Was Dr lava responsible for setting up the analog modulation for the diodes?
Very nice work i must say so again. :)

Cheers
Greg

Yes! I am quite fortunate as I live fairly close to him and he is a friend of mine.

He designed the drivers and he also did the current set up and soldering. So I did not have to worry about zapping the diodes with static.

He also had all those nice Aluminum laser diode bodies and mounts custom made!

He sells those too.

Hi James, do you mind sharing the total materials cost for the projector and source of where parts were purchased?
Thanks :)

I got most of the goodies from drlava in a trade. He wrote his software based on the core of LaserBoy, and he also really liked a painting I made. So, for that I got the reds, blues and violets plus the analog modulated drivers and all the help I needed to put it all together! How cool is that?
