correction amp
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:24:35 pm »
Hi, I'm very new to this stuff. I've ordered my sound card and went to order my amp kit. Thats when the trouble started. Google refuses to accept my card  :( and I cant find any where else to get a kit. I would love to build one but dont know enough to just build one from scratch so could really use a PCB. I could then buy the parts and build it. Any help would be really useful.
cheers.

Which sound card did you get?

It's not that hard to use a generic copper clad proto-board.

I can help you with that.

I also have all the parts.

James.   :)

Yes. I am familiar with that kit. I did the foil trace layout for it and Andrew, aka drlava, set it up in CAD and sent it to a fabricator.

I don't know if Andrew updated the kit or not, but the one we sold some time ago had some limitations. I have since updated my design.

The one big thing is the fact that it cannot compensate for the lower DC offset found on the CM6206.

I know you got the CM106, but you should look at the Sabrent USB-SND8.

It has 8 channels, not 6. So you can also have stereo audio tracks.

It is the board I used in the pictures in that thread.

Cheers for the prompt reply again.
It shouldnt be a problem getting the sound card you suggest.
The problem I think I will have is the wiring :(. I was going to get that kit as it had the layout on the board. I would have a go at the soldering of components but the wiring looks a bit out of my skill range  :'( .
