TOTALLY NEW FEATURES IN LASERBOY!

This version of LaserBoy has the most changes and additions of any time it has been released!

It now has a much better understanding of what a 6 channel AND an 8 channel LaserBoy wave is really all about.

There is still a lot to be done, but it can now join a 6 channel laser signal wave with a 2 channel stereo music wave.

It can also save Z information to a wave! Since the data can be minimized before it gets saved to wave, with no optimization at all AND the complete set of X, Y, Z, r, g, & b, LaserBoy wave is now a complete format specification, capable of holding every bit of ILDA formats 4 & 5.

Another really cool feature of this version of LaserBoy is signal bit resolution!

You can set the LaserBoy display to show you a rendering of the 16-bit data at any bit resolution below that. So you can actually see what the data looks like with only 10 bits of resolution on X, Y, & Z.

When you save data out of LaserBoy in the wave format, it will apply the current settings of your bit resolution matrix AND save a chunk of information in the wave header describing how many bits of resolution there are in each channel.

 You mean to tell me that you can create minimalist 'laser formatted' wave as an alternative to 24bit 3D ILDA 4&5??

This version allows you to apply the bit resolution reduction to the data of a frame or all the frames.

Here's a bit of code cleanup and a new way to figure out a value for a mono laser from r, g, b; for a more accurate gray scale (per meandean's numbers).  ;)

HA! I just found and fixed another bug!  ;D

The egg and spider were not getting set to the correct color.  :o

I want to try to add another feature or two and then I'll release it again.  ::)

This version has a new feature in the palette transforms menu.

Now you can clean out the palette set and eliminate any imported palettes that are no longer in use.

Well, it will have to wait until after Midnight... the 23rd.  ::)

But I have successfully added a signal polarity switch matrix to LaserBoy.

It has been possible to invert the polarity of the whole wave since the beginning of waves in LaserBoy.

Now it is also possible to invert the individual signal tracks within a wave and this information is properly represented in the LaserBoy wave header!

This is a great step to help me figure out just how to dynamically read wave data and figure out exactly what to do with it!

This will expose a whole new dimension to explore to discover new relationships between how wave data is created and how it is read back as color vector information!

This version fixes the options for converting RGB into a single channel for the 6th track of a wave, if Z information is not stored.

It also fixes the fact that when saving a single frame of ILDA, if the frame does not use the default palette, it will now save either the format 2 palette or the format 3 color table in front of the single format 0 or 1, like it should!

And of course the unusual code cleanup.

Let's call this the End-Of-The-Month LaserBoy Clearance Spectacular !!!

Now for the debugging...

  I tried to save a single frame to ILDA and got a file of 0kb...

  Something has changed with wave rendering- if you render in.ild
with default settings and listen to the X-Y in LaserWave, you can
hear pops in some of the frames (maybe I should have cleaned the
record first); this didn't happen in the previous rev (3/23).

  Still observed problems with channel 6 options. I set LB for TTL,
and used the read 6th as RGB option in LW plot 3900- ch#6 does switch
on and off, but not in the right places, as blank lines are visible.
I tried LB rev 1_1_09 (which always writes TTL), and it looked OK in LW.
