My DAC but not working
« on: April 13, 2014, 10:11:14 am »
Hi James!

I made this offset, but its not working.
I connected offset to usb sound card from DealExtreme.com , i make to X and to Y 0V  and i connected to galvos AL30K "PT30K" (1 to +IN, G to -IN and to GND ) but nothing. I connected to sound card speakers it makes sound if I click to projector on, but galvos dont work. I set sound card to 6channel.
I use LaserRoom Software and LFI_Player_V1.1.6

If I plug a USB to PC ( software not running ) in all outputs in offset i have Voltage. ( If i running software + projector ON , this voltage jumping.) Its good or not? but for the galvos i set 0V.

 What is wrong !?
 Please Help!

 Sorry for bad English!

Welcome to The LaserBoy Forum!

You are in the right place! :)

No need to apologize for your English. I understand you just fine. I only speak English. I have a lot of respect for multilingual people.

Nice pictures!

What operating system are you using?

Do you have LaserBoy?

With LaserBoy, you can make some waves for testing.

Also, do you have Spider Player? It's a free wave player for Windows that plays 6 or 8 chanels waves very well.

The first thing we should do is check out the sound card and make sure you are getting the added wires in the right places and getting the correct signals.

Then we can check out the correction amp.

Where did you get the information to build the amp you have?

What is LaserRoom?

James.  :)

Hi Kalmito,

Did you have soldered the wire’s before or behind the caps of the soundcard?

In my opinion you are behind the caps and not before.

PS: Excuse my bad english too.

Hi lange57-66!

You are correct!

We have been chatting on Skype and so far we have figured out quite a lot.

I also notice that Kalmito is using a -5V regulator in a TO-220 package. The circuit board that I designed back in 2008 uses a TO-92 package. I don't think the pins are in the same order!

I use the LM337 in the new design and the TO-220 pins 1, 2, and 3 are in a different order than the LM337 in the TO-92 package!

Hi lange5766 and James!

Yes yes James said for me I have cables in wrong side on sound card! THX! :)

I use this regulator from here:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/250861873388?txnId=1399265415015

Pdf here: http://www.taydaelectronics.com/datasheets/A-258.pdf

LaserRoom software: I think this is compatible with soundcard dac. Website: http://laserroom.org

I dont tested but i think is good for this, because compatible with cm106 sound card.

Cheers!

Well, thank you for checking in on the conversation!

Have you ever tried LaserBoy to make waves for your sound card DAC?
