Note the location of the tops of the ICs and their sockets, the polarity of the zener diodes and Tantalum capacitors. Make sure the ribbon port header has the key slot toward the inside of the PCB. All of these parts can easily be put in wrong and that will not work! The 470 ohm resistor goes in the place marked 500 on the PCB. This resister is in series between the +5V USB power input and pin 13, the shutter actuator, on the ILDA connector. 24AWG solid copper (telephone) wire fits nicely into the inputs, USB voltage and test point sockets.
