Check this out.
James.

I wondered where that went... I must have carelessly left it behind at the last Basement LEM.
I'll be right over to pick it up... ;D
-
Is that the one you finally got back? or a different one?
-
No.
That is the one-and-only Rosebud, that is still unaccounted for.
I really don't know what to do about it.
It's about a huge bummer.
That's for sure.
James. :)

What happened to it?
-
I sent it to thesk8nmidget along with a drlava analog modulated diode driver and a power supply.
He was supposed to replace the 9mm diodes in it with newer 5.6mm long die open can reds. I was going to pay him for parts and his time.
That was well over a year, maybe a year-and-a-half ago.
I can't find the exact date, because I can't really effectively search the PL and I can't get to any of my PMs there.
I suppose I could look for the shipping information.
I had already traded him a sound card DAC for a violet diode laser and paid him $150 for a very nice pair of dichros and mounts. I had no reason to believe that this deal would be any different.
I've called him many, many, many times.
He actually answered his phone about a month and a half ago and said he would pack it up and send it back to me.
I've called him many, many, many times since then.
It's really a drag. Whenever I did get a chance to talk to him, he seemed like an OK guy.
I don't get it.
It's really depressing.

Ouch, that stinks. And it was such a nice little module, too. Live and learn.
Buy yourself a mini-mill from harbor freight and you can make that kind of stuff yourself for a few dollars, though. That's how I made all of my laser projector stuff. Just costs time and a lot of cranking.
-
u have a mill.. sweet ... we need to talk again :)
-
OMG! You like totally just highjacked my thread!
You're out of control!

It looks like I can forget about this red laser assembly as it was never really mine anyway.

He never got it back and I never got my code.
That was not my understanding at all.
Looks like I'm going to have to collect everything he ever brought over here and take it back to him. I don't like to have these kinds of items, knowing that I will never own them properly.
I'm very sorry I sent your laser to a theif, Steve.
James. :)

So did you deliver code?
I am confused
-
Steve gives gifts and then turns them into "trades" at any later date he finds convenient.
James. :)
