There is already a nice free application called Vixen for that. It supports software and hardware plug-ins. I haven't used it so I want to check it out and see how good it is.
But, I am not interested in creating something like that. What I do want to do is add support for DMX, TTL, etc and make it flexible and intuitive enough so that people could use it to create a light show that has no lasers involved. Or, if they wanted, they could suplement their laser shows with lights, or vice versa.
Basically, I want to get Spaghetti to the point where you can usher in a group of people into a lit room, load up a Spaghetti show and hit play, and it will dim the lights, pump a little fog, give a complete laser and light show, and when it is done it will turn the lights back on. Or, if someone wants, they can play techno music and make their front yard lights go crazy and freak out the neighbors.
