Christmas lights

Seems like something Spaghetti could control.   Hmmm.  Christmas lights don't require variances or expensive hardware.  Hmmm.

Hmmm.

Most definitely.  But DMX/TTL/etc will be coming soon to Spaghetti.  So get your fog machines, lumia wheels, and strobe lights ready.

I kinda like your thinking here.. are you looking to build an actual full blown commercial application? do you have a set development path?

There is already a nice free application called Vixen for that.  It supports software and hardware plug-ins.  I haven't used it so I want to check it out and see how good it is.

But, I am not interested in creating something like that.  What I do want to do is add support for DMX, TTL, etc and make it flexible and intuitive enough so that people could use it to create a light show that has no lasers involved.  Or, if they wanted, they could suplement their laser shows with lights, or vice versa.

Basically, I want to get Spaghetti to the point where you can usher in a group of people into a lit room, load up a Spaghetti show and hit play, and it will dim the lights, pump a little fog,  give a complete laser and light show, and when it is done it will turn the lights back on.  Or, if someone wants, they can play techno music and make their front yard lights go crazy and freak out the neighbors.

Yes, but I want to make it so that non-laser people are interested in it as well.  I'm not sure how it will play out, yet.

I'm sure DMX would be a big hit to Spaghetti, heck, I am going to be doing lighting jobs for my school eventually, so some software "designed" by it's users would be cool. I reckon just adding a layer to the timeline purely for DMX, and then just use them like ILDA frames, but you can set DMX values in them  ;)
