It has been explained to me that the original intent of the ILDA format was to be a set of points, that, when clocked out of a DAC at some freq (probably 12KHz) should work and look OK. Apparently there was some thought about putting that freq in the section header or something, but it never happened that way.
That means that my interpretation of it is wrong.
I've got it so one can save data that is totally stripped of all unnecessary points.
From what I gather from reading forum posts, point stripped data is not well tolerated by the default settings of other systems.
