Now that I call it "done", it seems like it doesn't convey a single message, but rather a bunch of different messages all struggling to be absorbed into your visual cortex apart from the others.

This makes sense, I guess. I started on this one the same time I started on Napkin.

It doesn't really matter if it's any good or not. It had to be done. I got a lot out of that.

I think this one is more about close examination of the areas rather than getting the whole thing from farther away.

My desire to make paintings that can not be reproduced with photography is certainly accomplished in this piece!

Ahh! The famous 'Bootsy' speakers...  O0 I seem to remember the original cabinets were even bigger.

Yes. I cut one of the originals in half, right down the middle, from front to back, cut about a foot off the top and made new boxes from that. They were originally designed to be 3 feet wide and just small enough to carefully push through the doorway to my bedroom in Medina, Ohio.

Basically each one was the size of both of these pushed together face to face plus another foot on top.

They went from about 32 cubic feet down to a pitiful 12. But they are packed with glass wool and they sound really good.

Before the weather got bad, I refurbished them. I changed a tweeter, cleaned up the woofer cone, added regular speaker terminals to replace the quarter inch jacks, filled the scrapes a bit and repainted them. Good as new!

I got these woofers from Gary at Olson Electronics when it was still in Summit Mall!  .... like 1985.
