I thought with all the projector construction going on I would show off my old projector.
I built this about 10 years ago. Every hole in the bread board was drilled and tapped by hand.
I tought myself how to weld aluminum using my MIG for the housing.
The lids were bent by parking my car on a weight lifting bar over the aluminum plate then using leg muscle lifting the plate until I got the radius I needed. Can you say hernia?
It was designed to sit between the audience and screen. One side projected graphics and the other beams. I used the waste from the PCAOM steered through to the other side for the beam effects.
It had a 300mw American air cooled argon and 50 mw HeNe, General Scanning G120 scanners, a PCAOM, and a Universal Geometric Corrector.
It weighed 70 Lbs. and was built to just fit in my car at the time (Mitsubishi Eclipse).
There was a lot of room to expand for the future.
