Hey everyone!  I'm still around, just been a little inactive on the laser front.  I'm moving to Cleveland, the fabled land of lasers, in 2 weeks.  I'll be out of the loop until I finish my quals for Case Western sometime in August, then back to lasers.

Oh that subject,  Ditto, 

I haven't been working with my laser stuff recently since i had no galvo's and just my green laser.  (maybe no cash either)!!!

But am back!   and to a lovely new Forum :-)    I think i have missed all the drama that has been going on,   But i love somewhere new to hang out!

And Woo!   i have a second laser on its way...   A nice Laserwave 250mw (335) 650nm :-)

I just need a few things before i start my build,  a Dicho and and Easylase DAC.   Then i'll be a very happy guy!


Well,   Im glad to be back,  and cant wait to see the new developments on LaserBoy and also Spaghetti

Actually meandean (on this forum) came up with the original op-amp design for me; that has been on my website since 2005. I modified it a bit by adding the DC/DC converter to make it USB powered and drlava suggested the -5 VDC regulator in place of the 5.1 V zener diode. I did the trace routing to make it a one sided pc board and drlava laid my design up in OR CAD and sent it to a pcb shop.

Things are OK.

I have fake hips and an ankle with pins in it. My hips are over due to be replaced again. I had them installed in 93 and 94 and then redone in 2001. So I can only go at it for so long before I get pretty sore and worn out. But I guess that is what somehow motivates me to try to do as much as I can. I have been out in my garage ever since we've had decent weather. I've made a few nice big paintings and I am working on some smaller ones. I'm also trying to check off as many of those little projects that have been sitting in piles in my basement and my brain for the last several years.

Just last week I released a version of LaserBoy for the first time since 04-12-2009.

If you compare the code from then to now, you might see why it took me so long!
