text can also offer some nice shapes (wingdings, dingbats, webdings, etc)

I have put Spaghetti 1.8.1.0 on my website.  I decided to make it (at least for now) so that if it is unlicensed it will function as an ILDA file viewer.

I am still working on it and testing it so I am not selling licenses, yet.

Live text rendering would be awesome!

Or even just a text creation tool that saves to a .ild file etc. I have found it's quite challenging to get good text with any other program I have tried.

You can render text in LaserBoy. But you only have two fonts to choose from; Lucida or Courier New.

It does not do it from TTF files. It does it from ild files that have already been converted.

This wasn't so much for drawing in LaserBoy. It was to accommodate for the fact that DXF has a TEXT entity.

And it has nothing to do with live display.

Sorry about the thread dirft.....

James.  :)

PS, There are also some TTF to DXF converters out there that might be worth looking at for clues. DXF only stores the ASCII string.

1.8.1.0 offers a resizable plotspace :), but the .ild thumbnails in the browser get mixed up when resizing.

ILDA format compatibility checks between LB 3_31_09_v2 and Spg 1.8.1.0 look better in both apps. Still see one problem-
LB can convert LW waves to 24bit ILDA, or reduce them to palette. 24bit of LW origin loads fine in Spg, but palette does
not (even if the original wave is monochrome); yet palette drawings made natively in LB load up just fine. I can't tell
which app has the issue...

This might be caused by the fact that, according to drlava, the ILDA format 2 spec says that the colors in a palette shall not number greater than 255! Some of what you might be getting out of LaserBoy may in fact be format 2 with 256 colors in a palette.

I need to get to the bottom of this issue!

Also, although it has been reported before that the ilda file thumbnails get mixed up in the browser I have never been able to make it happen on my PC.

Update: I have reproduced it and am working on it.

It's a lot faster if you generate them from LaserWave + LaserBoy. You might find that Spaghetti loads the first 200 frames just fine, but fails to load the remaining 1800!

I don't use LaserWave or LaserBoy so I am no help there but if you run into a problem file send it on and I'll look at it.

Fixed!  Glad to get that one done!

Oh come on Gary!

With Spaghetti sales sky-rocketing, you should be able to afford LasewrWave and LaserBoy!

Afterall, 99.8% of the rest of your users rely on them for material!

  Hi Gary!

I e-mailed you a sample file, but I was hoping that others would be curious enough to be interested in the 'formatted' wave concept between LB and LW.

To put a finer point on it...

If you don't avail yourself with LaserWave and LaserBoy you are missing out on a very nice one-two punch package deal.

Spaghetti is a great way to make use of what you get.

That's a win-win-win.

Yep, just replied to your email.  It has a format 3 header in it and I don't support the LaserBoy version.  Sorry.

I have nothing against the formatted wave stuff you and James are doing but I am not really interested in creating ilda files or abstracts.  I've only actually created a handful of ILDA files since I have been into this.  The whole idea behind Spaghetti was so that I could use existing ILDA files to create shows because I have no interest in creating my own.  :)
