Back home from SELEM. That was interesting.
Gary.
I don't know exactly what to say or how to say it, but I am very sorry about how you were treated by Steve Roberts. I was right behind you when he made his comment.
I'm so disappointed by that incident, I can't even put it into words.
This was your first LEM ever.
Welcome to the laserist community!
Come on in and get personally called an idiot amongst your peers by the loudest mouth asshole in the whole bunch.
And rest assured, that he's one of the "good guys".
You are the trouble maker!
Remember?
Steve is constantly preaching ethics, etiquette, safety and all sorts of other puffed-up bullshit and he is the worst offender of all of the things he preaches about. I can't tolerate that anymore. I'm tired of just rolling my eyes in disgust.
I really wish I had a chance to get to talk to you and know you a little better. I was very impressed. You are obviously a nice, quite, (maybe a bit shy) person with a lot to offer. What I saw of your little projector was really nice. Please take some pictures of it and post them here for the rest of us see. I wish I could hold my RGB rig in one hand!
Both of us and drlava should have thought about it a bit more and just moved our show to the conference room at the inn. I really wanted to see you demo Spaghetti. I think we all might have had a great conversation about the technology in general.
I had a little bit of a chance to show LaserBoy to 300evil, Platinum and Imagelight. Steve and another guy was there. I guess it was DocJohn. I've never communicated with him before. Dean was there too.
I guess I learned a valuable lesson this time.
In general, people really DON'T understand how this stuff works!
My attitude has always been, "LOOK!!! It's so simple and straight forward! Why would you want to do it any other way?"
It's NOT simple or straight forward!
It seems like it's unanimous. If someone already has a laser controller and some software to go with it, they have no interest in LaserBoy.
I have a whole new game plan for the future.
I need to show it to people who have never seen laser show gear before and explain how it works to them.
I'm going to concentrate my efforts on getting together a group of local tech-artists. I think I already have a good start.
James.
