We really need to concentrate our efforts to get together another OTHER-LEM.

There are so many great ideas floating around here that should be of interest to just about any laserist.

If we made damn sure that everyone who wanted to do a presentation had a real chance and a solid, inviting audience, I think we would all learn new tricks and see how each of our projects fit together and compliment each other.

I'd like to really get down to the nitty gritty and talk about math, code, memory objects and all that other icky stuff.  :o

Everyone should be welcome. No one should be thought of as more important than anyone else.

Everyone should have a great time in a super fun place.

Online conferencing goes a long way if you just want to talk about math, code, etc.  I did this for years with people the people in Romania we were outsourcing with.  So, if you really want to do something like that we can figure out some common conferencing software and do it.  I usually have an hour or so of free time in the evenings.  So, when it comes time for SELEM we can drink beer and talk about more interesting things... especially since it is so dark there.  Next time I will bring a flashlight.  That should be a requirement or at least come with the shirt.

Better communications amungst ourselves is a great idea!

But I'm talking about having a LEM!

I'll be the first to admit, there is almost nothing more fun than getting to show LaserBoy to people who really want to see it!

I like to be the center of attention every now and then (for good reasons).  ;D

LEMs are good.  But honestly, I think of them as a fun trip and talking about code and math is the last thing on my mind.  In fact, the best times at SELEM were spent outside the loading dock talking to Dean, Justin, and some others.  I deal with enough math, code, and lasers day to day.
