My new solid state laser doesn't work

I bought what I was expecting to be a solid state laser on ebay but I think I have been had.  I plugged it in when I got it but nothing happened.  The enclosure said Nike on the outside and the lid was held on with some fancy gray tape.  I was able to remove the lid but I think I may have damaged the case a little where the tape stuck the outside.  Inside the box was a bunch of wires and some round glass marble looking things.  They might actually be marbles.  It has a hole in the front of the enclosure with a symbol of a lightening bolt drawn beside it.
