It has been super busy at work the past 5 weeks.

 

Unpacking Scanners




Temp set up at work .... for functional testing.





 

However I finally got my OFFICE/LAB/STUDIO set up.. and functional...







With the blacklights on....












So I have ordered NORMS mini RGB Driver board.  He is also building me one of his 2.0 DACS. 



I am using the 20kpps Scanners above from www.SPACELAS.COM.  Excellent customer support.  Tell SAM I sent ya.





Talkin with James over at LASERBOY about a sound card DAC.



I have ordered diodes from many different places over the past 5 weeks.





-www.modwerx.com is excellent. 

-Susie at o-like.com is excellent.

-RKCSTR Drivers and Dummy load are nice.

-DrLava's FLEXMODS are very nice.





Still working on the case design and thinking about upgrading my scanners.  Or building a 2 RGB's... LOL I think I have enough spare parts atm... and I will have 2 different DACS  when all parts come in...

HOUSING IS BEING BUILT .. RIGHT NOW>... Gotta love it when a co worker used to machine parts... gonna make my ghetto fabulous look ghetto super fabulous.. hahah

New Dac from NORM

New DAC from JAMES

I threw together the parts and used a 50mW green for some garage laser beams on New Years at a house party.

Ended up putting 20hours and getting my USB DMX controller working the next night.

It was pretty sweet.  After fitting all of the components into my little 5x4x8 inch box.. I think i may be creating a new housing for the RGV soon.

I was able to get NORM's FSX 2.0 and his Beta NLS to talk with each other.

I used LASERBOY to generate the following ilda file in a all green palette since I only have green working right now.

What is the knob on your projector for?

What is a .3g2 file?

It looks like you are trying to show the LaserBoy frame, with Norm's DAC, without having added any points for optimization.

This is a very bad picture of DrLava's projector from 2008.

It's hard to see, but he had to grind away part of the MM1 on the beam entry side so that the 45° angle would not block the beam entirely.

Who designs these things anyway?

Both of his dichros pass red and he has a reflect green and a reflect blue, in that order.

So after a very discouraging weekend using NORMS Driver board and popping two diodes.

Came into work tonight and my friend was on shift who knows how to use the big metal working machines.

We custom cut my Galvo block to exact height of my optics and mounted it all on a plate.

I thought you were going to use the big honkin' heat sync as your optics table.

I think I would probably try to mount everything on those and make a box. Use those nice square stock posts in the corners. Flip another piece of the heat sync fins-up and make the top of the box. Screw Aluminum panels into the outside row of fins on both sides. You can put all your power and electronics under the top heat sync.
