Dean just pointed a hole in the fabric of time-space.

Well, OK. Maybe it's just a bug in LaserBoy.  %)

If you render frame 14 from in.ild (3D starfield) as a still frame wave projection with default system settings, something weird happens.

The dots in the frame need to be flattened and re-ordered and then time optimized for galvo display. In one step of the process, the last star in the frame gets blanked. The next step finds the path from the last lit vertex to the first lit anchor point in the frame. So you end up with a big jump in 2D space because LaserBoy connected a line between the wrong last point of the frame back to the beginning.

So don't do that!  ;D

Now I have to fix it!

Got it!

There! I think it's done.

I finally found all the bugs in LaserBoy!  ;)  ;D

 Don't count your chickens, James...

A 10 sec rendering of the starfield frame produces the exact same raspy result in the XY...

Also, LB still can't read perfectly wave-legal 'LaserBoy by James Lehman: Extra Stimulus Inc.'
formatted waves from the app I sent you earlier.

Looks like the final, fixed version didn't make it all the way to the zip!

If you have downloaded LaserBoy_2009_10_12.zip before reading this post, get it again!

If you mean waves that have the signals randomly mixed up, then you're right. LaserBoy can't open them.

What's the point?

Why would you ever want to do that?

Just because the tracks have signal IDs doesn't mean you can mix them up.

That's quite a stretch and not a logical one at that.

I've always said this will always be a work in progress. Not every aspect of every idea is totally realized yet. There are still things I'd like to do with signal bit resolution reduction, but I haven't gotten there yet. At least now there is a way to manipulate that information and store an accurate representation of it for later use.

Obviously, you didn't even look at what I sent you.  There are no random
entry mixups, all the LB stuff is in proper order. Make a small wav and look
at the header in a hex editor (preferrably one the shows ASCII on the side).

Oh. I guess I misunderstood your question.

BTW, fixing that little bug with stars, that you pointed out has solved a number of other mysteries WRT the way some things look when projected from waves made in LaserBoy.

Thanks!
