The only custom machine work is the cylinder where the diode modules mount. That was done on a drill press which I have.

The housing is a flashlight I gutted. It took some searching to find one with the right dimensions.

I have to confess that we have a machine shop at work, but I haven't needed it yet.

I am trying to get it finished by the time I go to Ohio.

I sold another pointer to a friend at work and had to pull the BR & driver from this project. Believe me I want to see in color too. I already have an order into Dr. Lava for another driver.

I already ordered one from Dr.Lava, but his site says they are back ordered.

I'll take yours too if you can wait till Friday, you know payday ;D.
They are great drivers.

Here is the final product.

I showed it to several people at work. They mostly asked why? That really upsets me. I build things for the challenge. I enjoy creating. Most of the people I work with are closed minded robots stuck in a rut. They couldn't think outside of the box if it hit them in the head.

Enough venting.
Does it show that I need a vacation?

I will post all of the build pictures in the gallery soon.
