Now I just want my dual 150mW green on the table and working!

Oh well.....

I ordered one module and we are going to TEC it and analog mod it and see how well it works. I guess I should have just ordered both of them at the same time. But if it doesn't work, I'm not much of a pointer nut, so a greenie outside of my projector isn't worth $63 of my money.

Oh yea.... And I need another mount and a good dichro for mixing the 405nm.

DrLava pointed one out on the web for $195!!!

That's a lot for a 1 inch circle of glass!  :P

I wonder if they accept paintings?  %)

Look what I just found! ;D

I want to make a special post to thank Andrew for all of his hard work and expertise in making this projector!

He was at my house yesterday for more than 13 hours! And that was just to put stuff on the optics table that he had already spent WEEKS putting together before he came over.

This is a super extra special projector for me, because it was largely in trade for my work on writing the code that is the core of LaserBoy. Andrew has based his laser software on the original concepts of the LB data structure / memory object and its internal, self-referential overloaded math operations! He also had eyes for one of my newer paintings, "The Mind Eraser". So we made a deal!

I love the idea that this stuff came from one of the best sources in the world. I know him. He's my friend. He values my work. This did not cost me money!

How cool is that? !!! ;D

James.  :)

I had a good time working on it James, thank YOU for the pizza and beer to keep us going, and a special thanks for sharing your code and offering the Mind Eraser!  Your decision to open source laserboy a few years ago was what started all this rolling.

As for the painting, I am the proud new owner of an original Lehman, also the first painting 'sold' by James!  It is complete, balanced, structured but with with pizzaz, and a wonderful mix of colors and textures, full of interest.

Thanks again James, I look forward to seeing your future work in this area.

Alex, now that the pictures are up, what do you think?

Andrew

OK, so the Heat Sinks screw to the bottom of the board, and the P3 Drivers are Heat sinked and double insulated and heat sink greased to the Heat Sinks..  going out to a .1 " connector  carrying +12V GND Modulation+ and Interlock.

cross connect board takes ILDA 25 pin, and takes +RGB and gnd from there and feeds thru the jumper block, jumper block also has +5 Test mode, which it is in right now.  +12 GND and +5 coming in screw terminals.

I tested the interlock and got a red light when I opened the jumper.  Put the Jumper back and it did not recover, took a power recycle to release the lost interlock.

Not yet.

I'm still working on putting it together.

I have no green at the moment.

I gave my pieces to drlava (Aluminum chunks, TECs and green modules).

He's going to set it up with his analog modulated driver.

I might get one of the new P3 drivers to replace the N2 driver on my dual reds and use the extra N2 on the greens.

The little boards you see in rMuD's setup with the three trim pots is the new P3.

Neato!

Now I have to drill some holes in an Aluminum plate for pots, switches and DB25 ports.

I'm going to put 250K pots on the color mod lines going to each laser, so I can white-balance from there without messing with the diode drivers. I'm also putting spdt switches on each color to switch between DAC color signals and regulated +5VDC; so I will be able to turn on any color and adjust the level from nothing to full on with no input control signals at all.

Do you have a drawing example of how yo6u plan on putting the POTS inline for balancing the laser outputs?

And to all waiting for the Scanner Group buy I apologize I have been super busy with work, baby and daughters visit the past few months.

Check this out!

I put it all in a big ugly black box!

It has great air flow!

You can blow out a candle if you put it in front of the laser port!
