Things to remember in a brave new world...
« on: March 05, 2009, 04:28:08 pm »
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so..

A new idea is delicate. It can be killed by a sneer or a yawn; it can be stabbed to death by a joke or worried to death by a frown on the right person's brow..

The public have an insatiable curiosity to know everything. Except what is worth knowing. Journalism, conscious of this, and having tradesman-like habits, supplies their demands.

Do you know what a pessimist is? A person who thinks everybody as nasty as himself, and hates them for it.

He that is of the opinion money will do everything may well be suspected of doing everything for money.

Love me or hate me, but spare me your indifference.

It is the customary fate of new truths to begin as heresies and to end as superstitions.

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.

A thick head can do as much damage as a hard heart.

And finaly
Q: What do you call a clairvoyant midget who just broke out of prison? A: A small medium at large.
